Last day of our cruise and feeling depression setting in. Used the phone for an early wake up call. 6:30. Breakfast areas are closed at 8 am this day so we wanted to make sure we got a good breakfast in. Got up, got dressed and headed up to windjammer by 7. It was very crowded but there were seats to be had. Got our last breakfast of our vacation and it was sooo very quiet. Guess everyone was into their own thoughts with memories of a great week. Took our time and got back to our cabin about 8. You need to be out of your cabin by 8am.
We saw cabin stewards knocking on peoples doors for this. Gathered our carry-ons -- went through the cabin one last time looking for stuff we may have left behind and closed the door one last time. Since there is no smoking on the outside decks at this time (they are refueling) we found the Sports bar was a smoking area so this is where we decided to stake our area for our long wait.
We had Beige luggage tags which are called last. This was requested as our Limo from Larrys will not be picking us up until 11am. It was by far better to wait in the air-conditioning then wait outside in the terminal. There is coffee, tea and water in the Promenade Cafe.
First tags were called off by 7am. We were called at 10:30am. There was no one left on the ship except staff and we never even saw those. Talk about a ghost ship. We were the only ones on that deck when Beige was called. It took half an hour to go through immigration/customs and get our luggage.
Got outside at 11 and there was the limo driver as promised. Got all 14 bags plus the 6 of us situated and we were on our way to the Fort Lauderdale airport. It was a very quiet ride compared to a week ago when excitement ruled that ride in. Our flight was scheduled for 4pm. From reading the cruise Critic board I was scared to book the other flight at 11:40. Although we could have made that flight if we got early tags. We arrived at the airport before noon. We had to wait til 1:00 to check in with Air Tran. We just sat and waited. At 1pm we checked in then got something to eat at CHilis. Considering we ate enough to feed a small country during the week it was funny that we still wanted to eat. Anyways, we got on our flight home on time and got home safe and sound. Now its back to reality of life and start looking into our next vacation. After all is said and done we had a wonderful week. Weather was gorgeous and we couldn't want for anything better.
